Behind M&H is a team of passionate individuals with a wide skill-set and complementary expertise drawing on diverse backgrounds and varied experiences

Founders

MARIE BOS

Convinced that environmental protection, social equity and economic prosperity (Triple Bottom Line principles) should be the drivers of every business decisions, I co-founded M&H Advisory and Investments.

As a CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing holder, I focus on sustainable finance and impact investing. I support Venture Capital funds (VCs) creating impact through their investments. This entails developing customised ESG strategies, assessing the sustainability risk to their investments and the impact (positive and negative) of their portfolio on the planet and people. In parallel, I am an impact investor in green and social start-ups whose impact I help determine and increase. I am also a GRI certified Sustainability Consultant and completed the training with the standard-setting Greenhouse Gas Protocol on product life cycle assessments.

I live to learn, solve problems and make a positive impact which is why I dedicate some of my time supporting climate advocacy efforts with Climate Changemakers Europe on a voluntary basis.

The climate crisis, the biggest challenge faced by our planet for many lifetimes, can be made into an opportunity for people and companies to innovate and grow responsibly. Every organization can progress the entire triple bottom line (economic prosperity, environmental protection and social equity) simultaneously.

With many years of strategy and change management experience, I support venture capital funds and corporate clients in their transition to more sustainability.
Comprehensive sustainability strategies, sustainability reporting and product life cycle analyses provide a different viewpoint on a company’s operations, unearthing many improvement potentials.

I work with clients of all sizes, from start-ups to globally operating organizations across different industry sectors. My clients value that I can quickly adapt to their specific circumstances, delivering solutions that work for them.

I am also writing a Doctoral Thesis on the German Venture Capital industry and in how far the entire triple bottom line is considered when taking investment decisions. I am curious to find out what drives an industry that is naturally focused on financial returns to shift towards more sustainable investments.

IAN MARTIN CARDENAS TOVAR

I am a Bioeconomy master’s student at TUM. I learn how to redesign businesses towards regenerative systems that take the value of nature and a resilient society into account.

During my work at the professorship for Circular Economy, I supported the environmental auditing of novel technologies across different industries. I also assisted with the development of sustainability frameworks to analyse the potentials of the German Bioeconomy. Blended with my multicultural background and my education in economics, I developed a versatile combination of skills to make information-driven analyses.

Cooperation and innovation in sustainability are key to overcome the status-quo of our industries. Therefore, I am intrigued to support the implementation of sustainable business models that foster systemic changes.

I started my career as a developer by founding a software company and progressed to being a management consultant. Therefore structure, logic and entrepreneurship are at the center of my work. I worked and lived abroad and experienced diverse team settings in various countries and cultures.

Furthermore, I am a techie at heart and interested in how technology can help mankind in tackling climate change and other problems. How the world's countries come together in tackling one of the biggest problems in history is going to dictate how future generations will be able to live. For our sake and the generation and future of my children I hope mankind will be successful in preserving our habitat and implement sustainability at the core of every future decision. I leverage my previous experience to help businesses be in the drivers seat of change in terms of sustainability.

Wanting to deliver the best quality work possible, M&H’s team regularly completes certifications in well-established global standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, Greenhouse Gas Protocol or the CFA Institute.

We are also members of communities that allow us to stay in touch with the business realities of our clients.

Sustain­ablity

Because we cannot preach something we do not practice, we produce our own sustainability report. We track our environmental and social performance on a yearly basis and look for ways to improve on it. For example, maintaining the diversity of our team is a key concern. We are also careful to evaluate our IT needs and subsequent purchases which we source from second-hand providers.
